One is a National Portrait Gallery collection of portraits of comedians, and the other is of photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe (an aquired taste if you ask me, but don't take any notice of that). | 27/Aug/2009 | A Mrs Finlayson has contacted Ron Walker wondering if anyone in the society would be prepared to help her sort out a dozen or so wedding photos. They were taken on a Panasonic Lumix camera so I think they will be jpegs on an SD card. She is hoping that in a few cases people can be moved from one frame to another etc. Ron explained that doing that sort of thing is difficult and time consuming but it may well be that someone in the society might be interested. | 27/Apr/2009 | If you are a digital group member you may have noticed that Terry Irons and Steve Dorey have started to use a new piece of software called FastStone for showing slide show of digital images on screen. I have used it myself and found it very versatile and easy to use, and the good news is that it is free, although you can give them a donation if you find it very useful. If you want to find out more about it go to the FastStone web site. |
| 27/Apr/2009 | If you are having trouble with your printer there is a company in Sheffield that may be able to help. I was having trouble with my Epson 1290, with ink continually getting onto the print rollers and dirtying the prints, but they fixed that problem for me. The company is called GS Office Machines; click here for their web site. I have no connection with the company in any way; I am just a satisfied customer. |
