Sheffield Eagles rugby match, Friday 22nd July 2005
This outing was very different from our usual ones: Steve Dorey had arranged for us to be enrolled temporarily as official photographers for a Sheffield Eagles rugby league match at Don Valley stadium. This is a very different area of photography from what most of do, and it was a good challenge to try to get pictures of the action as the light faded away, especially for those of us like me who could make out very little of what was actually going on! One result of the evening is increased respect for the professionals who go to events like this and come away with perfect shots of the peak of the action every time, for publication in the morning paper.
