Fair Brook and Kinder Scout, Saturday 20th August 2005

This was a testing outing that proved very rewarding in the end. Gerry Sweetman led a small but very select party of six up Fair Brook onto Kinder Scout. The weather was cool but fine, ideal for walking, and the views from Kinder downfall extended well beyond Manchester airport, where aircraft could be clearly seen taking off and landing. The sun came out more as the day went on, lighting up the purple heather and giving great photographic opportunities. A very enjoyable day, but the legs were very tired the next day!
