Higger Tor and Stanage, Tuesday 19th June 2007

After a run of good weather the forecast for this evening was not promising, but eight members turned up at Burbage and we had a good walk, even managing to see something approximating to a sunset. We walked over to Stanage and found the abandoned millstones which have figured in many a landscape at the club, but the light was not good and we couldn't quite find the tripod marks for the best viewpoint. We were established in the refurbished Norfolk Arms before the heavens opened.

A reduced number of members, but we still had a quorum Frank points out the hills in the distance Rock on Higger Tor Frank and Jenny The light was poor when we got to the abandoned millstones, but here is one that I took on a better day. A small area in the west started to go nice and pink... ...and there were even a few streaks of sunlight I think it is already raining over Kinder Frank taking some sunset pictures
